People's Calypso at Midnight was part of People's Songs' Midnight Special folk music series. The calypso concert included a cross-section of Trinidadian songs, along with commentary by Alan Lomax and the singers: Lord Invader, the Duke of Iron and Macbeth the Great. Gerald Clark's band provided the accompaniment. The concert closed with Invader's version of Lord Pretender's "God Made Us All," a civil rights calypso.
