Sterling Bettancourt was one of the ten top steelbandsmen who traveled with the Trinidad All Steel Percussion Orchestra (TASPO) to England in 1951. The only band member who did not return to Trinidad, he has remained a leading figure in U.K. and European steelband circles for over 50 years.
