Surinamese saxophonist and bandleader George Schermacher was known for his recordings of both kaseko and calypso. Kaseko is an urban creole music in Suriname that was influenced by calypso, Guyanese bhagee and Afro-Cuban dance music during the 1940s and 1950s.
